In 1912 Walter Morris opened a butcher’s shop after working in the butchery department of the local Co-op. The shop thrived and was passed down to his son who continued the family business and in turn it was passed to his son Henry. Today the company is still run by Walter’s grandson, Henry, and his wife, Christine.
Morris Quality Bakery employs a team of 186 people in which the majority are local residents. Between them they have clocked up well over 1400 years’ service with the longest serving member of staff reaching 30 years at the Bakery; at TNS, we pride ourselves on the retention of our staff, placing a great deal of trust and autonomy into our staff, just like Morris Quality Bakery.
